Chris commenced practice as a Barrister in 1990 and has built a strong reputation throughout Australia in the fields of equity and revenue law.
Chris’ approach is to keep clients away from the court system, wherever possible using attention to detail and negotiation to secure outcomes that are certain at the earliest opportunity. A good year is a year in which matters are finalised but in which no matters proceed to hearing.
In 2009 Chris completed his Certificate in “The Practice of Double Tax Treaties” at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at Wirtschafts Universitat in Vienna.
Chris is a regularly published author on equity, tax (including state taxes) and superannuation issues and is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Australian Tax Law Bulletin and Secretary of the ICAA Number 2 Tax Discussion Group since 2012 and a member of the Australasian Tax Teachers Association (ATTA).
Since 2000 Chris has presented regularly for the TTI, CPA Australia, ATTA and the ICAA and in total on more than 100 occasions and has provided evidence to the House of Representatives Tax Review Committee.
In 2001 Chris established a national tax training company which provides tax training to accounting and legal firms throughout Australia and also to government revenue authorities.
